Hectic

On Sun we went to Leonie's garden party - the kids had a wonderful time running amock in the huge garden, eating more cake than is strictly necessary, while we watched benignly drinking mildly alcoholic punch.
Then we headed over to Dot's mum's garden party where the kids had a wonderful time running amock in the long grass while we ate and drank again.
Two beautiful gardens in one day - so lucky.

On Mon Flo went off for 3 days on a school trip. The longest we have been apart. Quite a big thing. She arrived back dirty, tired and grumpy, but had a fabulous time.

On Thurs Little Daffy Do had her first taste of proper big school. Having put up with 'Is it time yet?' all morning, by the afternoon I could barely restrain her. She insisted on wearing her 'schooliform' and carrying The Book Bag.

She had a lovely time, did a splodgy painting and no doubt made her mark with the new teacher.
That evening the moment Si had been dreading arrived - he had to go to The School Prom.
I hurriedly wiped some red wine stains off his suit with a flannel, and pushed him out of the door.
On Fri E had her Primary Ballet exam. It was a bit of a mission getting her ready - they have to look immaculate with hair gelled to within an inch of it's life. This is not a look that E favours, being one of Nature's scruffbags.
But she did very well, gaining top marks. What a star.

In the evening we went to the school 'Feint', as E calls it.
To avoid queueing for the Face-painting, we did it at home. Saved us a couple of quid.
So, back home at last, kids in bed, feet up. Get up, feed the cat, then feet up again.
