Yesterday was horrible. All 3 kids at home at various stages of sickness bug recovery -
ie: Eva climbing up the walls and bouncing off the bunk beds, completely better , but unable to return to school due to the "72 hour" rule; and Flo curled up in a ball on the settee, too weak to move, looking a greenish shade of grey.
Daffers, realising that mummy was outnumbered, promptly joined forces with Eva.
They put on their best American accents and played "Bratz" - a game which seemed to involve getting every item of clothing out of the drawers, and shoving them down the sides of the bed.
When they tired of that, or just ran out of clothes to shove, they terrorised the cat, chasing her all over the house, screaming hysterically.
By 3 o'clock, when they were taking it in turns to fall on each others stomachs, I decided that some fresh air was in order.
Poor old Flo stoically trudged through wind and rain, watching E and D disappear on their scooters over the horizon. We ended up going twice as far as I had intended, because E kept shooting past all of the turnings.
Anyway....today is very different.
Eva has gone back to school. Flo is writing letters at the table, and Daf is playing contentedly with her "Pollies."
As for me - there is a lamb tagine cooking in the oven, and chicken soup simmering on the stove, so I am feeling extremely pleased with myself, and able to indulge in a bit of illicit daytime blogging.
